That's no cute little Jerry dodging behind the refrigerator.  As cute as he is, it's very likely he has already gnawed on electrical wires or chewed up valuable papers somewhere in your house.  Rodents are very destructive and unsanitary.  They cost home and business owners thousands of dollars every year in damages to electrical lines, furnishings, paper goods, and anything they can either eat or use for bedding.

They are a serious health risk to humans, from germs and bacteria passed through their droppings and urine.  They leave urine trails to guide them through dark wall voids, under cabinets, in crawlspaces, and anywhere else they travel.  Mice and rats live anywhere there is a potential source of food and where moisture is available.

Winter months drive mice indoors and they are capable of squeezing through a 3/8 inch opening.  Mice begin breeding at six to eight weeks old and average eight litters per year, with four to seven young per litter.  The Norway and Roof rats generally breed by two to three months old and average four to seven litters per year.  Norway rats average eight to twelve young per little and Roof rats average four to six young per little.

Steps for control

  • Rodent proofing - A thorough inspection of the premises and sealing of any openings 3/8" or more for mice and 1/2" or more for rats is an important step in eradicating the existing or potential rodent problem.
  • Sanitation -  Eliminating open garbage containers, sealing food containers and removing your pet's food and water bowls will discourage hungry mice and rats.
  • Professional services - A professional will be equipped to locate rodent trails, nesting areas and access openings.  Cost will depend on the severity of the problem and the size of the structure that is infested.
  • Do it yourself products are available.  Delivery to our service areas, shipping right to your door, or pick up at our office can be arranged simply by calling or emailing your needs to the numbers listed at the bottom of the page.
